36.Effect caused partly by act and partly by omission

Wherever the causing of a certain effect^ⓘ, or an attempt to cause that effect^ⓘ, by an act^ⓘ or by an omission^ⓘ, is an offence, it is to be understood that the causing of that effect^ⓘ partly^ⓘ by an act^ⓘ and partly^ⓘ by an omission^ⓘ is the same offence.IllustrationA intentionally causes Z’s death, partly^ⓘ by illegally omitting to give Z food, and partly^ⓘ by beating Z. A has committed murder.
