Terms of Service

Effective date: 27/09/2026 · Last updated: 29/10/2026

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Pen Policy, including its application, website and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

Pen Policy is operated by Apex Group, with its address at Raipur, India (“we”, “us” or “our”). Support email: support@penpolicy.com or admin@penpolicy.com .

Please read these Terms before using the Service. By creating an account, signing in or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. About Pen Policy

Pen Policy provides educational tools and legal reference materials for judicial-service examination preparation.

Features include Bare Acts, case-law summaries, previous examination questions, practice tests, study plans, revision tools, notes, highlights and progress tracking.

Features may vary by platform and application version. Future or announced features are not included unless expressly offered.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally competent to enter into a binding agreement to use the Service. The Service is not designed for, or directed at, individuals below 18.

You must provide accurate information when registering and comply with laws applicable to your use.

4. Educational purpose and independent status

Pen Policy is an educational and reference service. It does not provide legal advice and does not establish an advocate-client relationship.

Pen Policy is not a government examination authority and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any court, Public Service Commission, recruitment authority or government body, unless a specific relationship is expressly identified.

Official examination notifications, corrigenda, legislation and court judgments remain the authoritative sources.

Study plans, readiness estimates, mock results and recommendations do not guarantee examination eligibility, selection, rank, employment or any other outcome.

5. Legal content and examination information

We aim to provide useful and accurate content. However, legislation, case law, examination rules and official answer keys may change.

Summaries, annotations and provision mappings may omit detail. Previous examination questions reflect the law and examination framework applicable to their original date unless otherwise stated.

You should verify information that affects an examination application, legal decision or other significant action against the relevant official source.

Historical topic frequencies and weightages describe the available paper sample. They do not predict future questions or guarantee complete coverage of past examinations.

If you identify an error, contact support@penpolicy.com or admin@penpolicy.com with the relevant page, provision or question and a supporting source.

6. Accounts and security

Where an account is required, you are responsible for:

  • Keeping your registration information accurate.
  • Protecting your login credentials.
  • Using reasonable care to prevent unauthorised account access.
  • Promptly reporting suspected unauthorised access.

You must not impersonate another person or use another person’s account without authorisation.

You are not responsible for unauthorised activity caused by our failure to meet applicable security obligations.

7. Permission to use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access and use the Service for your personal educational purposes.

You may use any downloading, printing or export features expressly provided by the Service, subject to displayed restrictions and applicable third-party rights.

This permission does not transfer ownership of the Service or its protected content to you.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use the Service for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
  • Attempt to access accounts, systems or data without authorisation.
  • Introduce malware or interfere with the Service’s security.
  • Circumvent access controls or paid-access restrictions.
  • Redistribute or commercially exploit protected content without permission or another lawful basis.
  • Use automated tools in a way that materially disrupts the Service.
  • Upload material that infringes another person’s rights.
  • Harass, threaten or impersonate other people.
  • Use the Service to cheat in a live examination or assessment.

These restrictions do not limit rights granted to you by applicable law, including permitted uses of public-domain materials.

9. Intellectual property and third-party materials

The Pen Policy name, branding, software, original explanations, original questions, original case summaries and interface materials are owned by us or our licensors, except where otherwise identified.

Legislation, judgments, official documents and third-party materials remain subject to their applicable legal status and ownership. We do not claim exclusive ownership of underlying public-domain legal materials.

Third-party attribution and licensing notices must be respected.

If you believe content infringes your intellectual-property rights, email support@penpolicy.com or admin@penpolicy.com with:

  • Your name and contact details.
  • Identification of the protected work.
  • The location of the disputed material.
  • An explanation of your rights and the alleged infringement.

We will review the report and take appropriate action.

10. Your notes and other content

You retain ownership of the notes, answers, annotations and other content you submit or create.

You grant us permission to store, process, reproduce and display that content only as necessary to provide the features you use, maintain security and carry out your instructions.

This permission does not authorise us to sell your content or publish private notes.

You must have the right to submit any content you provide. Avoid uploading confidential client information or personal information about others without a lawful basis.

Deletion and retention of your content are governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. Automated or AI-assisted features

Some features use automated or AI-assisted systems to generate study suggestions, explanations, questions or feedback. The paid plans include these features, which work without any setup or configuration.

Parikshak AI is provided by us as part of your plan and works straight away. It runs on an AI provider that we operate and pay for, and we choose the model. If you use an AI feature, your prompt and the legal text you selected for it are sent to that provider so it can generate a response. AI mocks consume the monthly allowance in clause 12.

Such outputs may contain errors, incomplete reasoning or inaccurate references. They must be checked against the linked source and, where relevant, the official legal text.

Automated evaluations are study aids and are not official examination marks or professional legal opinions.

Any processing of your information by AI service providers is described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Fees, subscriptions and payments

Pen Policy has a free tier and two paid monthly subscriptions. Light is ₹199 per month and includes 10 AI-generated quiz mocks per billing period; Focus is ₹299 per month and includes 30. The free tier does not include AI-generated quiz mocks. The price, billing period and included features are shown before you pay, and the same figures are charged.

A new account may include a trial of the Focus allowances for 7 days. The trial does not require payment details and does not renew automatically; when it ends, your account returns to the free tier unless you subscribe. Using the trial does not oblige you to purchase.

Subscriptions renew monthly at the price shown at checkout until you cancel. You authorise recurring billing when you subscribe, and you can cancel at any time from the More page; cancellation stops future renewals, and access continues to the end of the period already paid for. We may change prices for future billing periods, and will give reasonable notice before a price change takes effect. Taxes, if applicable, are shown before purchase.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not receive or store your full card or UPI credentials. A subscription is activated only after Razorpay confirms the payment, and access to paid features depends on that confirmation reaching us — if a payment succeeds but access does not appear, contact us and we will correct it. For purchases made through the Google Play or Apple App Store, billing and cancellation are managed through the relevant store.

13. Refunds

Subscriptions are digital content made available to you immediately, so payments are not ordinarily refundable once we have confirmed your subscription is active. This does not affect any right to a refund you may have under applicable law, including where the subscription is not provided, is materially faulty, or the service is unavailable.

If you believe a refund is warranted, request one by email to support@penpolicy.com or admin@penpolicy.com with the email address on the account (or the WhatsApp number used to sign up) and the date of the payment. We will review the request against these Terms and applicable law and will tell you the outcome. A refund is discretionary and is not automatic; we may decline where the subscription has been used and no legal basis for a refund applies. There is no in-app refund button — please contact us instead, so a person reviews every request. We aim to respond within 7 days.

14. Offline access and notifications

The application stores legal content and your study records on your device so they remain usable offline. Offline material reflects the version last downloaded; reconnect periodically to receive available corrections and updates.

If you turn them on, the Service can send you a daily practice reminder by web push through your browser, and a small number of emails about your own account when an email address is linked: a few before your free trial ends, and one if you have not used the app for a while. A phone-only account receives no lifecycle email until an email is linked. The reminder depends on your browser permissions, device settings and connectivity, and delivery at an exact time is never guaranteed. The account emails are sent to the linked address, carry a one-click unsubscribe link, and stop when you use it; unsubscribing does not affect your account or your access. Neither is advertising, and neither affects your plan, your progress or your saved work.

You should independently track application deadlines, examination dates and other important events.

15. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and delete personal information.

Acceptance of these Terms does not replace any separate consent required for particular data processing or device permissions.

16. External services and links

The Service may link to external websites or integrate third-party services. Their own terms and privacy policies may apply.

We do not control independently operated websites or their content. A link does not, by itself, imply endorsement.

App-store terms may also apply to installation, purchases and billing.

17. Availability and changes to the Service

We may update the Service to improve functionality, correct errors, maintain security or comply with legal requirements.

Maintenance, technical failures and circumstances outside our reasonable control may interrupt access.

We will provide reasonable notice where practicable before discontinuing a material feature. If a change substantially affects a paid service, we will provide any remedy required by applicable law and the applicable purchase terms.

18. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to:

  • Address a material breach of these Terms.
  • Protect users or the Service from a security threat.
  • Investigate fraud or unlawful activity.
  • Comply with a legal obligation.

Where practicable, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue. Immediate action may be necessary for serious or urgent risks.

You may challenge a restriction by contacting support@penpolicy.com or admin@penpolicy.com .

You may stop using the Service at any time. Account deletion is available through the methods described in our Privacy Policy.

Termination does not remove rights or obligations that have already arisen, including applicable refund rights.

19. Disclaimers and liability

We will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill.

Subject to mandatory legal rights, we do not warrant that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every user’s particular requirements.

We are not responsible for examination outcomes or decisions made by independent examination authorities.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when these Terms were accepted.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Nothing in these Terms removes statutory consumer protections or remedies.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, our operations or applicable law.

Updated Terms will state their effective date. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes where practicable, and obtain renewed acceptance where required.

Changes will not retrospectively remove rights that arose before they took effect.

If you do not accept revised Terms, you may stop using the Service, subject to your existing rights concerning paid services.

21. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to mandatory protections that apply in your place of residence.

For a concern or dispute, first contact support@penpolicy.com or admin@penpolicy.com . We will make reasonable efforts to resolve it.

This contact process does not prevent you from approaching a competent court, consumer commission, regulator or other authority, and does not suspend any applicable legal deadline.

Disputes may be brought before the courts or tribunals having jurisdiction under applicable law.

22. General provisions

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.

We may transfer our rights and obligations as part of a lawful business transfer, provided the transfer does not reduce your statutory rights or materially prejudice your contractual rights.

23. Automated access, crawlers and AI agents

Automated agents — including search-engine crawlers and AI systems — may access only the parts of the Service that are publicly available without signing in. They must not attempt to access, bypass or reproduce authentication-gated, paid or personal content.

Where an automated system reproduces, summarises or otherwise reuses our publicly available content, we ask that it credit the source by naming “Pen Policy” and linking to penpolicy.com. We are not affiliated with, and do not endorse, any third party that reuses our content.

Our crawler and AI-use policy is published in robots.txt, including a Content-Signal declaration of how publicly available content may be used.
